The seller is responsible for getting the goods onto the vessel. Once the goods cross the ship's rail, all costs and risks pass to the buyer — freight, insurance, destination customs and duties.

Think of it like

You buy a car from a factory. The factory's job is to get the car onto the truck. Once it's on the truck, you pay for the drive, insure it, and clear any fees when it arrives.

Seller handles

Get the goods loaded onto the vessel, export-cleared.

Buyer handles

Everything from that point: main transport, insurance, import duties.
